A day filled with structure, calm, and care.

At Daisy’s Daycare, we believe that a clear and predictable daily rhythm makes a world of difference for young children. It offers them calm and security. Two essential foundations for a healthy development. When children know what to expect, they feel more confident, become more independent, and grow in self-confidence, all at their own pace.

A consistent daily rhythm is just as important for our childcare professionals. It creates clarity and balance, allowing them to stay attentive and responsive to each child’s individual needs. As a result, transitions between activities and moments throughout the day feel natural, gentle, and unhurried.

By following a similar daily rhythm across all age groups, we help children experience the transition from one group to the next as smoothly and familiarly as possible. This sense of continuity helps them settle in quickly, feeling safe, secure, and at home.

For our youngest children (from around 10 weeks to approximately 6 months), we follow their individual rhythm as much as possible during the first months. Around the age of six months, we work closely with parents to gently introduce the Daisy’s Daycare rhythm. Even then, we ensure that the baby schedule aligns as closely as possible with the rhythm of the other groups. In between, each child is offered bottle feeds and additional rest whenever needed, so their personal needs are always respected.

Our meals and snacks are carefully tailored to each age and are only introduced when a child is truly ready. In this way, we support a healthy, calm, and predictable daily rhythm. One in which children feel safe, nurtured, and free to grow.

Our Daily Rhythm

7:30 – 9:30 | Morning Calm and Rest

The day begins gently and warmly. Children are welcomed with care and are given the space to start their day at their own pace. For our youngest children, this is a time for rest and sleep. Allowing them to grow, recharge, and settle into the morning. Toddlers and preschoolers enjoy a calm start with quiet play, easing into the day in a way that feels right for them. Each child follows their own rhythm, creating a sense of safety, comfort, and relaxation.

9:30 – 10:15 | Breakfast & Morning Circle

A healthy breakfast gives every child a nourishing start to the day. After enjoying a fruit-based breakfast, we gather for our Morning Circle. Together, we talk about who is present, the day and season, what we will do, and how everyone is feeling. This shared moment brings structure and predictability, builds trust, and supports children’s cognitive development, independence, and sense of belonging.

10:15 – 11:30 | Free Play, Activities or Outdoor Play

After breakfast, it’s time to explore, move, and play. Children can choose free play, join guided activities, or spend time outdoors. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and social interaction. Always in a way that suits each child’s age, interests, and developmental stage.

11:30 – 12:00 | Healthy Lunch

Lunch is a calm and enjoyable moment shared together. Children are introduced to a variety of healthy options and are encouraged to participate, for example by helping prepare or choose their food. This supports independence and self-confidence. Our lunches vary daily and may include healthy wraps, omelets, or bread with fresh soup, always served in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

12:00 – 15:00 | Nap Time & Midday Rest

Around noon, we gently prepare the children for their midday rest using our familiar sleep ritual. Soft yoga music, dimmed lights, calm transitions, and a story help children unwind. This predictable routine offers comfort and security. Each child sleeps for as long as they need, while preschoolers who no longer nap enjoy quiet play together.

15:00 – 15:30 | Healthy Snack

A nourishing snack gives everyone new energy for the afternoon. Children enjoy options such as raw vegetables with yogurt or a cracker. During this moment, we talk about the morning, the naps, and allow the children to wake up calmly and comfortably.

15:30 – 16:30 | Free Play, Activities or Outdoor Play

The afternoon once again invites play, discovery, and learning. Children move, explore, and play together while our childcare professionals lovingly guide, support, and encourage them.

16:00 | Rest Moment for the Youngest

Babies who need extra rest are offered a short nap, ensuring they stay comfortable, balanced, and well-rested throughout the day.

16:30 | Warm Dinner by Moekes Maaltijd

At the end of the day, we offer a warm evening meal prepared by Moekes Maaltijd. Their dishes are made with 100% natural ingredients (around 65% organic) and contain no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives. Meals are freshly prepared and delivered three times a week for children aged 4 months to 4 years. This way, children end their day with a nutritious, wholesome meal, and parents pick up their child with a happy, satisfied tummy.

17:00 – 18:30 | A Calm and Gentle Closing

After dinner, there is time for quiet play, cuddles, and a gentle winding down of the day. We say goodbye in a warm and relaxed way, ensuring every child leaves Daisy’s Daycare feeling safe, secure, and at ease.

Activities at Daisy’s Daycare

At Daisy’s Daycare, we believe children grow best in an environment where safety, joy, and curiosity come together naturally. Every day unfolds as a new adventure filled with discovery, play, and those small, magical moments that make childhood so special.

Being Outdoors: A Daily Adventure

Whenever the weather allows, we step outside at least once a day. For our babies, this often means a peaceful walk through the Westerpark, where they can rest or sit comfortably in their stroller. As they watch passing dogs, swaying trees, and colourful flowers, their senses are gently stimulated and their curiosity sparked.
Toddlers and preschoolers explore freely in our spacious shared garden, complete with a cycling path, slide, vegetable garden, and tree trunks for balancing and climbing. Outdoor play invites children to move, explore, and connect, both with one another and with the world around them.

Development-Focused Activities: Growing Step by Step

Alongside outdoor play, we offer a daily activity tailored to each child’s age and stage of development. Some days invite creativity, others focus on movement, language, or cooperation. Each activity is thoughtfully chosen to sit just beyond what a child already knows (challenging, yet achievable) so learning feels exciting rather than overwhelming.

In this way, children gently build new skills, confidence, and a sense of pride in what they can do.

We work with themes that change twice a month, offering a varied and inspiring programme for each age group. Our childcare professionals select activities based on the children’s interests and needs, often together with the group, ensuring that every day brings fresh opportunities for learning and joy.

Free Play: Space for Imagination and Confidence

Free play holds a special place at Daisy’s Daycare. It is here that children’s imaginations truly come alive. Where stories are created, friendships grow, and children learn by doing. Through free play, they practise sharing, collaborating, problem-solving, and expressing themselves in their own unique way.
Our childcare professionals remain close by, observing with care, gently guiding when needed, and ensuring every child feels both free and safe to explore.

Storytime: A Window to the World

Language development is one of the most important foundations in early childhood. That’s why we read aloud at least twice a day; during calm moments, before nap time, or as part of our morning circle. Stories open doors to new worlds, spark imagination, and help children understand language, emotions, and themselves a little better each day.

A Day Filled with Warmth and Connection

Each day at Daisy’s Daycare is a story waiting to be told. A story of movement and rest, discovery and play, laughter and calm. A place where children feel seen, heard, and safe. Where they dare to try new things and grow in confidence as they learn.
Here, children build trust, independence, and social skills, growing a little more into who they are meant to be, every single day.

Every day brings a new adventure, where children learn and discover.
