Meet Daisy's Daycare
In a world where childcare often revolves around efficiency and large groups, we wanted to create something different – something more personal. No large groups or impersonal care, but peace, attention and space to flourish – just as every child deserves. That is why we are proud to start Daisy's Daycare: a place where children can develop through play in a safe and loving environment. Located in the heart of Amsterdam West, we are here to support parents with professional care for their children.
"At Daisy's Daycare, we cherish the early years of a child, where the foundations for the future are built."
The faces behind Daisy's Daycare
We are Kim Groot - van Denderen and Claire Moulijn, the founders behind Daisy's Daycare. Together we started this beautiful adventure with passion.
Kim was born and raised in Amsterdam. She has over 6 years of experience in childcare. Kim started as a Specialized Pedagogical Employee and has developed into a pedagogical coach, pedagogical policy officer and branch manager. Claire was born in The Hague, raised near Utrecht and has been living in Amsterdam for almost 10 years now. She also has years of experience in childcare and has developed from pedagogical employee to (assistant) manager in childcare.
We know each other from the childcare world and were on the same page from day one. We have a shared vision, complement each other and have a lot of love and passion for the profession. Thanks to our different roles within childcare, we have developed a good idea of how we want to approach things differently. At Daisy's Daycare, the focus is on offering peace, attention and development stimulation. We consciously work with smaller groups, so that we can really give time and personal attention to each individual.

Our pedagogical vision
Just as a flower slowly unfolds in the first rays of sunshine, a child begins its journey in the first years of life. These precious moments, in which the foundations of their future are laid, deserve all the care, attention and expertise. At Daisy's Daycare we cherish these moments and offer children a place where they can blossom in peace and love.
Daisy's Daycare offers professional care to children from 0 to 4 years old and we see every child as unique. In order to optimally support each child in his or her growth process, we create an environment with peace, structure and safety. We therefore consciously work with smaller groups and focus on offering a safe, secure, caring, stimulating, social and educational environment for children. This means that their development process never has to stand still.
Daisy's Daycare sees childcare as a valuable addition to the education at home and as a positive contribution to the development of children. We cherish the wonders of childhood and strive to ensure that children feel just as safe and loved with us as they do at home.
"At Daisy’s Daycare, we believe that language is the key to the world and lays the foundation for the future of every child."
Vision on education
In today's society, both parents and children are expected to do a lot. That is why we at Daisy's Daycare believe it is important to offer as much support as possible in the upbringing and development of the child. We see the daycare as an extension of the home situation. This works in close consultation with parents. In addition, Daisy's Daycare offers other possibilities and learning experiences than will occur in home situations. We consider this to be an added value in the upbringing of the child. The upbringing attitude of our pedagogical employees is based on respect, care and attention for every child.
Vision on child development
At Daisy's Daycare we provide safety, security and trust so that children dare to take initiatives and can develop themselves. Children develop best when they feel free and secure. At Daisy's Daycare children are given the space for their own explorations.
The child is central. We believe in the power of an environment in which each individual child can develop at his or her own pace. Every child is different and deserves an approach that matches his or her talents and challenges. Inspired by Vygotsky's concept of the 'zone of proximal development', we encourage children to grow just above their current level - with the right guidance, structure and attention. We incorporate this vision into all activities and free play.
Daisy's pedagogical employees are focused on stimulating the development of children. They offer children interesting and educational experiences throughout the day that fall within the zone of proximal development.
In addition to the children's explorations, it is therefore important to create additional challenges to continue to stimulate development. This is done by offering activities or new play materials or by pointing out new possibilities of existing teaching materials to the children. In this way, you not only broaden their knowledge but also their imagination. What else can you make with a toilet roll? A tunnel? The pedagogical employees are very attentive during free play and can then immediately respond to situations that arise. In this way, they can guide interactions, offer spontaneous activities and offer the children the opportunity to develop personal competencies. During playtimes, you look at what a child is doing, needs extra help with or is looking for more challenge.
All activities and play materials are then tailored to the interests and developmental level of each child.
The core value of Language Development
At Daisy's Daycare we see language development as one of the most important pillars in the first years of a child's life. Language is not only a means of communication, but also a fundamental instrument for thinking, learning and all social interaction. It is precisely in the age of 0 to 4 years, when the brain develops at a rapid pace, that the foundation is laid for strong language skills.
Reading plays a crucial role in this process. By reading aloud regularly, children are playfully exposed to new words, sentence structures and concepts. This not only stimulates their vocabulary, but also their understanding of language and stories. In addition, reading aloud helps develop listening skills, concentration and imagination. The ritual of reading aloud creates a moment of peace and connection, in which children feel safe and secure. This is why we read a story to children at least twice a day in our daily routine.
Research shows that children who are exposed to rich language and stories from an early age often perform better in school and form relationships more easily. For us, it is therefore important to create a language-rich environment in which children not only listen to stories, but are also encouraged to communicate themselves, ask questions and share their experiences.
At Daisy's Daycare we believe that language is a key to the world. By embracing language development as a core value, we contribute to the cognitive, social and emotional growth of each child and lay a strong foundation for their future.

"At Daisy’s Daycare, we create a place where children, parents, and employees feel heard, seen, and valued – the key to happy, healthy, and development-focused childcare."
Daisy's Daycare's mission
Our mission is simple but powerful: we want to create a place where children, parents and employees feel heard, seen and valued. We are convinced that this is the key to happy, healthy and developmentally focused care. With a developmentally focused program and smaller groups, we help children strengthen their cognitive, motor, emotional and social skills, in a way that meets their unique needs.
At Daisy's Daycare, the child is central and we believe in the power of a safe and loving environment in which each individual child can develop at his or her own pace. Every child is different and deserves an approach that matches his or her talents and challenges. Inspired by Vygotsky's concept of the 'zone of proximal development', we encourage children to grow just above their current level - with the right guidance, structure and attention.
At the same time, we attach great value to a warm and open collaboration with parents, so that they feel fully supported in the care and development of their child. We are committed to a positive and appreciative working environment for our pedagogical employees. Only in an environment in which children, parents and employees can grow optimally, can we really make a difference.

The benefits for parents and children
Health and well-being are fundamental to our policy. From nutritious, healthy meals to a clean and safe environment, we provide everything needed to support the physical and emotional growth of children. Flexibility from us will be necessary for a parent to better combine work and family, without compromising on the care of their child. Daisy's Daycare will therefore be open from Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30 and work with flexible drop-off and pick-up times.
With bright, spacious group rooms and an adventurous outdoor playground, we offer an inspiring environment where children can discover something new every day. Our warm and professional team of pedagogical employees and coaches are ready to guide children from 0 to 4 years with love and attention.
We look forward to welcoming all children, parents and colleagues!
